A Fine Arts student and a professor of the University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu displayed their artworks at the Manila Art Caravan at The Henry Hotel in Banilad, Cebu last September 19 to 23.
Wyndelle Remonde, a graduating Fine Arts student said that his
artwork, My Jesus was made using
acrylic oil and textile paint. It portrayed faith no matter what a person’s god
looks like.
“It is also about how Jesus saved the people from all of their
sins," he added.
The exhibit was organized by Qube Gallery headed b Jon Gotiong and
showcased over 49 different artworks, which incorporated the theme “Tao, Ginoo, Pagtoo.”

Villacin displayed his work entitled The
Images of Angelus #1, which used mixed media, a visual art that combines
various traditional distinct art media.
“I'm very proud of myself and honored to be chosen as one of the
exhibitors,” said Remonde. He was the youngest among the group.
Other works of Villacin and Remonde displayed in the exhibit were Working Student and Untitled 1-6 respectively.
The exhibitors of the Manila
Art Caravan will also join in the upcoming ManilART which will be held at the SMX Aura Convention
Center, Taguig City on October 9 to 13, 2013.
"I'm excited for ManilArt.
It's a privilege to display my artworks
in a national art exhibit," Remonde said.
ManilART is a definitive visual
art event in the country. Now on its fifth year, it envisions being the
Philippines' premier international art fair showcasing the best in Philippine
contemporary visual arts for the development and promotion of the Filipino
national culture and arts locally and in the global art community.
Lectures, workshops,
demonstrations and other activities with the support from both local and
foreign exhibitors will also be held during the ManilART.
