The University of the Philippines Football Club bagged second place in the Barili Football Cup 2013 last Sunday morning, July 28, 2013.
“ It’s a huge honor and an achievement for the team as we place second in the competition, I don’t think I could have done it without my teammates’ efforts,” said team captain of UPFC Marian Dawn De la Torre.
Team UPFC against Team San Roque scored 1-0 after the penalty shootout.
The games were delayed due to heavy rain and unsafe grounds. The headmaster decided to postpone the tournament for the safety of the players, however, the four teams protested and the game went on.
Participants of the 2013 Barili Football Cup were Team San Roque A, who won first place, University of the Philippines Football Club who ranked second, Team San Roque B for third place and Team Barili who placed last.
