After years of awaiting new equipments the
University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu Mass Communication program has finally
acquired new facilities.
Three new Toshiba laptops and five used flat
screen computers will be available for use this month.
“It is good that we now have sophisticated
equipments and we are already not behind other universities when we speak of
technology but I hope that its usage will really be maximized and the
appliances itself will be taken care and used properly, said second year Mass
Communication student Paulo Salada.
The laptops amounting to 29, 950.00 pesos were
funded by Congressman Arturo Radaza and the five used flat screen computers
were donated by various UP offices.
The television editing room adjacent to the
radio laboratory will be converted to a news editing room.
According to masscomm faculty Jason Baguia,
the news editing room and PIO will be open once the renovation of the
television room will be completed.
The equipments will be used by mass
communication students and the staff of the public information office (PIO) who
